Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Upper Room Ventures Inc., operating as UNPLUG ("UNPLUG", "we", "us"). By creating an account or attending an UNPLUG night, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the UNPLUG application, website, or attending any UNPLUG event, you confirm you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Community Standards.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter contracts, and not barred from UNPLUG. You agree to use your legal name and a current photograph that is recognizably you. Identity verification is required before your first night.

3. Your Account

3.1 Real identity

One account per person. No aliases, no shared accounts, no bots. We may suspend any account we reasonably believe is fraudulent.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.

4. Membership & Payments

Membership tiers (Unplug, Unplug+, Unplug Select, Unplug Reserve) are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time and your membership will remain active until the end of your billing period. Food, drinks, and gratuities at venues are not included unless explicitly stated.

5. Conduct at UNPLUG Nights

You agree to follow our Community Standards at every UNPLUG night. Be kind. Be honest. Show up sober enough to be a good tablemate. Treat venues and staff with respect.

6. The Phone Jail

At every UNPLUG night, your phone is placed in a locked phone jail at the table for approximately 90 minutes. The venue host holds the release. In an emergency, your phone can be released immediately. By participating, you accept that you will be without your phone for the duration of the meal.

7. No-Shows, Refunds & Dropouts

A reservation is a promise to the five other people at your table. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the night are refunded in full. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or no-shows, forfeit the reservation fee and may affect your grouping priority.

8. Content You Submit

You retain ownership of photos, ratings, and reviews you submit. You grant UNPLUG a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the service.

9. HOST Nights

HOST nights let qualified members organize their own UNPLUG tables. As a host, you agree to follow all UNPLUG rules, including phone-jail enforcement and Community Standards, and to act as the responsible point of contact at the venue.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these Terms or our Community Standards. Serious violations — including harassment, harm, or solicitation — result in a permanent ban with no refund.

11. Limitation of Liability

UNPLUG provides grouping and reservations; we do not control venues, food, or the behaviour of other members. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UNPLUG and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or attendance at events.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Edmonton, Alberta.
